Dear MartinLutherKINGjr. ,

this is the national holiday on the calendar and it’s more than closed establishments or a off day. I always wonder if you were still alive.. would you be pleased with what has become of your D R E A M but I pray everyday one day that real life is not full of racism .. in a perfect world , right. We’ve been backtracking two steps at a time lately but I too have a dream one day .. but for now “I’m rooting for everybody black”.
This is my part , let me speak ;
let’s talk black lives matter because all lives matter when its convenient .. but I’m focused on the important fact BLACK lives matter , especially if its a inconvenience when the convenience store is now a inconvenience.
any way the picture is painted , the color on skin is still the peak of separation and YES white is not the only divider .. color ism is a division of black people within themselves that goes all the way back to the brown paper bag test. when you speak on black lives matter lets agree ALL BLACK LIVES matter , please include the fairest skin and don’t exclude any complexion because of “favoritism” that enjoys being overlooked. we’re all black faced in the eyes of the press , the lighter the skin doesn’t gain automatic incentives. we’re all victims to the corrupt racist tendencies .. and while you’re occupied thinking the lighter the skin the simpler life is .. remember there is no measurement of racism .. but it’ll always be the heaviest of pills to swallow. The remedy is the realization that together we are the majority and the real change begins with us. The words don’t mean much so I apologize for even writing this. No words are adequate enough to describe the turmoil being lived in present day, “we’ve come a long way” yet it looks like the future is really us reliving the past in modern day. “History Repeats Itself” .. just figured since our African history was left off the syllabus they’d stray from making us slaves again. NO , our freedom wasn’t short lived , we were never actually free to begin with. In the end I pray our future kids will learn the story line of black women and men thinking “we’ve actually come a long way” and not fall victim to a cycle justified as “History Repeats Itself” .
