PATIENCE.

Devotion draped me up last night LOLS.

The lesson was focusing on having a wise heart over a foolish heart and having a compassionate heart over a hardened heart.

In regard to wisdom the message was reflecting on the power of having emotions to experience intimacy in relationships and discerning when you are acting out of emotion without God’s confirmation (“which is foolish”) their words, not mine. Like in instances where you convince yourself “I’m following my heart” knowing that will not serve you peace of mind.

Then in regard to compassionate heart, speaking on forgiveness in platonic and romantic relationships. This one I may say is tough, I’ve posted about my relationship with forgiveness before and I must say in some areas I have grown. I have learned to forgive in my platonic relationships but romance is very tricky because forgiveness requires letting go fully ..

and I am just not there yet.

patient people need patient people too

don’t be shocked a few fall out of line

bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred starts to seep through the cracks of their heart ..

they start to exude a shade that is not quite their suit

becoming a reflection of the people who hurt them

it becomes challenging to be compassionate, loving and forgiving

when you don’t experience love in the form of patience too.

Would you say you leave people better than you find them?

In my sound years I can gladly say yes,

in my unexperienced ..immature days

I can admit I have impacted a few people negatively by not grasping the impact of my actions.

with that being said, I do believe we experience people differently

therefore, a foe to you can possibly be a friend to someone else
& a horrible love interest can be the prize wife/husband of someone else.

I’ll leave the guided prayer that was paired with the devotion;

” Heavenly Father, I need You to take my calloused heart and turn it into a heart of compassion toward the people that have hurt me and are hard to love. Help me through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be kind, humble, patient, forgiving and loving. Help me to walk through the valley of relationships with You by my side. Grow my character in these trials. Protect me from bitterness, hatred and unforgivness. You were able to have compassion for sinners. Help me to do the same. Amen”
