There’s two things are allowed to be true ,
Then there’s perception vs. reality.
It actually surpasses comical when you think about how many times
perception outweighs reality because the facts aren’t as entertaining or satisfying.
in a lot of ways too ..
calling someone nonchalant because the reality of being disliked might cause a bruised ego ,
disliking someone for a personality you’ve written when you know your spirit simply doesn’t take them,
making jokes based on a false rumor and ignoring the correction of the actual details in fear of a failed attempt for laughs,
telling yourself you are at peace and nothing will disrupt it while simply using it as a shade from conflict resolution while you hide from trauma.
if you’ve ever stained something with curry, that’s how I view perception at times .. once something is strongly perceived in a certain light it’s hard to rinse the slate anew.
You would need a new slate .. right ? .. but what good is the new slate in the same environment .. it’ll almost be like you just painted over the stain until the paint strips and the stain rears its ugly head.

eventually you learn that you have to let people live with the perception they see fit because it is simply out of your control.
